  • Need to deploy a Lookout man so that while Technicians and Assistants work on track amidst trains running at high speeds of 130/ 160 Kmph

On 11.04.2024 at about 22:20 hrs, Point no. 22 Normal & Reverse indication failed at Rechni Road station of Secunderabad division. Although it was raining heavily yet Shri Shiva Shankar, ESM -1/RECH along with his Asst./RECH Shri M. Narsaiah reached the site to attend failure so that train operations are not held up. At about 22:53 hrs point was restored for normal working but Shri M. Narsaiah was not aware that his journey of serving Railways will end here. While Shri Shiva Shankar was closing the location box, Shri M. Narsaiah went to lift his Tool kit from the point zone but unfortunately got hit by train no 12670 Ganga Kaveri express, suffered a head injury and fell down in unconscious state before taking his last breaths. S&T fraternity suffered yet one more unexpected loss of its family member.

Our Assistants and Technicians are pillars of our S&T working who work day and night on field, so that thousands of passengers travel safely and on time. People such as Shiv Shankar and Narsaiah M. have risen above the routine duties, and have distinguished themselves as exemplary human beings.

Departure of Shri M Narsaiah comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide network and community. We wish the almighty to give strength to his family in this time and grant peace to the departed soul.

With increasing assets and speeds, it is high time that we start looking into the genuine needs of our Technicians & Assistants and provide them adequate safety equipments. Further there is need to deploy a Lookout man so that while Technicians and Assistants work on track amidst trains running at high speeds of 130/ 160 Kmph, there is someone who can look after for their safety.
