Kolkata. On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, Central Hospital, South Eastern Railway, Garden Reach, Kolkata, organized a special awareness program and health check-up session for its healthcare staff. The event focused on raising awareness about hypertension and promoting regular monitoring of blood pressure among medical professionals. A total of 75 doctors, nurses, and hospital staff participated in the program, which included a comprehensive health screening using a special body composition analyzer. This advanced device provided detailed data including BMI, body fat percentage, water content, and muscle mass, helping participants gain better insight into their health status.
The awareness session featured valuable inputs from senior medical professionals.
Dr. B. N. Jha, ACHD, Cardiologist, spoke about the importance of measuring blood pressure regularly and accurately, stressing that proper BP control is essential for living a longer, healthier life.
Dr. Anjana Malhotra, PCMD, addressed the significance of managing stress in the workplace and appealed to all staff members to undergo regular blood pressure check-ups.
Dr. Sreekumar, Medical Director, conveyed the message that hypertension being a silent disease in the onset should be detected and treated early since it is a major risk factor for end organ damage .
Adding to the discussion, Dr. P. K. Majumdar expressed concerns over the complications associated with uncontrolled hypertension. Dr. Priyanka Mandal discussed how hypertension specifically affects women, drawing attention to the need for increased awareness among female healthcare workers.
Dr. Mukta Mondal advice healthcare professionals to take care of owm health admist taking care of health of the society. Concluding the session, Dr. A. Bera spoke about the necessity of routine health check-ups for all healthcare professionals, reinforcing the importance of preventive care in the medical field.
The hospital staff expressed satisfaction with the session and showed great enthusiasm for the initiative. The program not only provided essential health insights but also motivated staff members to take proactive steps in managing their health.
